LastPrice Online Store

The Vision

Buying an appliance in Accra often means calling a shop to ask the price. LastPrice was built to do the opposite. Every product shows its real price and its delivery cost before the customer commits, and the promise fits in one line: the price you see is the price you pay.

The harder part was trust. A first-time customer has no reason to send money to a website they have never heard of, so the checkout takes no payment at all. The customer pays by mobile money after the item has reached them and they have looked at it.

A Full Store, Not a Template

This is a custom-built store rather than a theme, because the way it sells would not fit one:

• Catalogue: Around 90 products across five categories, each with real photos, measurements and capacity. Some products also have video.
• Honest delivery pricing: Every product card shows either free delivery or the exact fee, so nothing is added at checkout. Delivery is free on orders of GH₵999 or more.
• Pay after delivery: The order is placed without payment. The customer then sends mobile money quoting their order number, and only after checking the item at the door.
• Delivery booking: Customers give a GhanaPost GPS address and choose a delivery day and time window.
• Order tracking and reviews: Customers can follow an order, and product reviews come from verified buyers.
• WhatsApp ordering: Anyone who would rather message than use a basket can order on WhatsApp from any product page.

Designed for Phones

The store is built for a shopper on a phone. The basket and WhatsApp stay within thumb reach at the bottom of the screen, product cards show the price and delivery cost at a glance, and search and a dark mode are one tap away.

Running the Shop

Customers see only half of the system. Behind it is a private admin where the business runs day to day: orders, products and categories, mobile money payment checks, customer reviews and reports. Each order number doubles as the payment reference, which makes every transfer easy to match to its order.

Built to Be Found

Every product and category has its own clean page, listed in a sitemap for search engines. Product pages carry structured data, so Google can read the name and details of each item directly.

The Engineering

The store runs on Next.js and React with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, on a PostgreSQL database, behind Cloudflare. Automated tests cover the rules that matter most to a shop.

The Result

The store launched in August 2026, and by November it had taken about 20 orders, with no payment asked up front.
