AI automation for Canadian small businesses

AI is useful when it takes a boring, repetitive job off your team's plate. I find the tasks worth automating, build the tools around your own information, and keep a person in charge of anything that matters.

AI automation from CA$2,500

One focused automation, such as a website assistant or a document reader, in Canadian dollars. Bigger systems cost more, and the AI provider charges its own usage fees.

The automation check comes first, and it's free. If you go ahead, you get a fixed written quote before any work starts.

What you get

  • One task automated, chosen with you
  • Built around your own information
  • A person approves the important steps
  • Set up so your data doesn't train public AI models
  • A clear view of where your data goes
  • Tested on your real work before you rely on it

Smaller jobs: CA$75 an hour

For fixes, updates to an existing site, or advice on a project. I tell you the hours in writing before I start, and you only pay for the time agreed. One hour minimum.

Ask about a small job

Where AI actually helps a small business

  • Customer questions: A website assistant that answers from your own information
  • Email: Sorting incoming messages and drafting replies for a person to check
  • Documents: Reading invoices, forms and PDFs, and putting the data where it belongs
  • Quotes and proposals: First drafts based on your past work
  • Calls and meetings: Summaries and follow-up lists
  • Company knowledge: Staff can search your documents by asking a question

My guide on what to automate first goes through each of these.

Where Canadian businesses stand

According to Statistics Canada, 19.2% of Canadian businesses reported using AI to produce goods or deliver services in the 12 months before the second quarter of 2026, up from 12.2% a year earlier. Among businesses with 1 to 4 employees, the figure was 19.9%.

So most of your competitors aren’t using it yet, and small businesses are keeping pace with everyone else.

What AI shouldn’t do on its own

AI makes mistakes, and it makes them confidently. Anything where a wrong answer could cost you money, trust or legal trouble needs a person to check it. I design these systems so that a person approves the important steps.

Your customers’ privacy

Personal information is still covered by Canadian privacy law when an AI tool handles it. I keep data to the minimum each task needs, use business-grade AI services, and show you where your data goes.

Start with one task

  1. Pick the job that eats the most hours
  2. Measure how long it takes today
  3. Build a small tool for that one job
  4. Keep it if it saves time, and drop it if it doesn’t

Small projects like this show quickly whether AI is worth more of your budget.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me what you need

A few lines in the form is enough. I read every message myself.

  2. 2

    See a preview or plan

You get a free preview or a short written plan, so you can judge the work before you spend anything.

  3. 3

    Agree a fixed quote

Scope, price and timeline in writing before any work starts.

  4. 4

    Build and launch

Weekly updates while I work, then launch, training and a full handover.

I'm in Ghana, and here's what that means for you

FoudaTech is based in Accra, and I don't have a Canadian office. I work remotely, and I spent 30 months as a developer on Appanzee, a Canadian software platform.

No Toronto office means no Toronto overhead in your quote. I also keep your hours: my working day starts at 1pm in Accra, which is your morning.

You can reach me all through your working day

The time I start work, in your local time, during winter
Your city I'm at my desk from
Halifax 9am
Toronto, Ottawa 8am
Winnipeg 7am
Calgary, Edmonton 6am
Vancouver 5am

These are winter times. Add an hour in summer. I stay available until your working day ends, and email and forms work any time.

Common questions

Do I need custom AI, or is ChatGPT enough?

For one person's writing and research, a paid off-the-shelf tool is often enough. Custom work makes sense when AI needs your own information, has to connect to your systems, or talks to your customers.

Can you build a chatbot or AI receptionist?

Yes. A website chatbot trained on your own information is a common first project. It answers routine questions and hands anything tricky to a person. Phone answering can be added if your business takes a lot of calls.

How much does it cost?

From CA$2,500 for one focused automation, and the AI provider charges its own usage fees. You'll get a fixed quote after the free check.

Is my customers' data safe?

I keep data to the minimum each task needs, use business-grade AI services that don't train on your data, and tell you exactly where your data goes. You remain responsible under Canadian privacy law, so I'll design with that in mind.

Will AI replace my staff?

That isn't the aim. The goal is to give your team back the hours they spend on repetitive work so they can focus on customers.

Where are you based?

In Accra, Ghana. I work remotely, during Canadian business hours, and I don't have a Canadian office.
