The Vision

Horizon Limiteds required a professional digital storefront to showcase their extensive line of high-end kitchen appliances imported from China. The primary business requirement was not direct online sales, but rather a highly visual, easily searchable product portfolio that the internal team could manage and update without requiring continuous developer intervention.

Pragmatic CMS Architecture

While custom tech stacks are ideal for complex applications, a robust Content Management System (CMS) was the mathematically correct choice for this client’s operational needs:

• The Framework: Architected on WordPress utilizing the Kadence theme. Kadence was specifically chosen over heavier page-builders for its strict adherence to modern web standards, outputting microscopic CSS/JS payloads compared to its competitors.
• Custom UI Elements: The frontend interface was designed using lightweight, bespoke elements rather than relying on bloated third-party plugins, ensuring a premium, responsive user experience across all devices.

Structured Product Data

To handle complex appliance specifications without overwhelming the user interface, we engineered a strict data hierarchy:

• WooCommerce Catalog Mode: We deployed WooCommerce strictly as a robust backend database, entirely disabling the cart and checkout flows. This provided the client with a familiar, battle-tested interface for managing inventory and categories.
• ACF & CPT Integration: We utilized Custom Post Types and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to strictly structure the data. This guaranteed that technical specifications (wattage, dimensions, material) were inputted cleanly into the database and rendered consistently across the frontend, preventing layout breaks.

Because product catalogs rely entirely on visual assets, performance optimization was critical to maintaining Google search visibility:
