Ask about a small job

Signs you’ve outgrown spreadsheets

  • Two people keep two versions of the same file
  • Staff retype the same details into different systems
  • You can’t see where a job or order stands without asking someone
  • Customers find your mistakes before you do
  • One person holds the whole process in their head

If a few of those sound familiar, my guide on when to replace spreadsheets with custom software will help you decide.

What I build

  • Client portals: Customers check progress, download documents and message you in one place
  • Internal tools: Quoting, scheduling, job tracking and inventory, shaped around your process
  • Custom CRMs: Built around how you actually sell, without the features you never use
  • Dashboards: Live numbers from the systems you already have
  • Connections: Your website, accounting software and other tools talking to each other

Proof: Appanzee

I spent 30 months working on Appanzee, a Canadian platform that lets teams replace spreadsheets with their own connected apps. Each customer organization gets its own separate database, and access can be controlled field by field. The same thinking goes into smaller projects: keep it simple for your team, and keep your data safe.

Start small

You don’t need to replace everything at once. We start with the one process that costs the most time, finish it, and put it to work. Then you decide what’s next, based on what you’ve seen.

Your data stays yours

Your data sits in your own account. It can be hosted in a Canadian data centre if you need that, access is limited by role, and backups are automatic. If you ever leave, you take everything with you.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me what you need

A few lines in the form is enough. I read every message myself.

You get a free preview or a short written plan, so you can judge the work before you spend anything.

  3. 3

    Agree a fixed quote

Scope, price and timeline in writing before any work starts.

  4. 4

    Build and launch

Weekly updates while I work, then launch, training and a full handover.

I'm in Ghana, and here's what that means for you

FoudaTech is based in Accra, and I don't have a Canadian office. I work remotely, and I spent 30 months as a developer on Appanzee, a Canadian software platform.

No Toronto office means no Toronto overhead in your quote. I also keep your hours: my working day starts at 1pm in Accra, which is your morning.

You can reach me all through your working day

The time I start work, in your local time, during winter
Your city I'm at my desk from

These are winter times. Add an hour in summer. I stay available until your working day ends, and email and forms work any time.

Common questions

How much does custom software cost?

From CA$7,500 for a focused first version that handles one process. A full platform is a much bigger job, so I usually start with one process and quote it as a fixed phase. Read what drives the cost.

How long does it take?

A focused first version often takes four to eight weeks. You'll get a timeline with your quote, and you'll see working software along the way.

What happens if you're unavailable later?

You own the code, and it's stored in your own account and built with common technologies. Any good developer can pick it up from there.

Can it connect to the tools we already use?

Usually, yes. Most accounting, CRM and email tools can connect to custom software. I'll check yours before quoting.

Should we buy a ready-made tool instead?

If a ready-made tool does nearly everything you need, buy it. I'll tell you if that's the case. Custom software pays off when nothing fits, or when per-user fees keep climbing.

Where are you based?

In Accra, Ghana. I work remotely, during Canadian business hours, and I don't have a Canadian office.
