Small business website design for Canadian companies

Your website should bring in calls and enquiries, not just sit there. I design and build clear, fast sites for Canadian small and mid-sized businesses, and you deal with me from the first call to launch day.

Smaller jobs: CA$75 an hour

For fixes, updates to an existing site, or advice on a project. I tell you the hours in writing before I start, and you only pay for the time agreed. One hour minimum.

Ask about a small job

Who this is for

Contractors, clinics, law and accounting offices, local retailers, manufacturers and B2B companies, from a few staff to a few hundred. You might have no website yet, one that looks dated, or one built on a template that has never brought in work.

Redesigning without losing your Google rankings

If your current site already ranks, a careless redesign can throw that away. I map every old page to its new address and set up redirects, so your visitors and your search history follow you to the new site.

What does a website cost in Canada?

My websites start from CA$3,500. For comparison, Canadian studios publish a wide range of prices. Impeka in Ottawa lists $3,000 to $8,000 as a typical small business site, and one Toronto pricing guide puts a five-page site at CAD 5,000 to 8,500. My guide to website costs in Canada covers what those numbers include and what they leave out.

You’ll get a fixed written quote from me before any work starts, so the price can’t drift.

One developer or an agency?

An agency makes sense when you need a full team for branding, photo shoots and ongoing ad management. If you want a strong website built properly by someone who answers you directly, one senior developer is usually simpler. You talk to the person doing the work, so nothing gets lost along the way.

Real work you can click on

Live projects, each with a full case study.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me what you need

A few lines in the form is enough. I read every message myself.

  2. 2

    See a preview or plan

You get a free preview or a short written plan, so you can judge the work before you spend anything.

  3. 3

    Agree a fixed quote

Scope, price and timeline in writing before any work starts.

  4. 4

    Build and launch

Weekly updates while I work, then launch, training and a full handover.

I'm in Ghana, and here's what that means for you

FoudaTech is based in Accra, and I don't have a Canadian office. I work remotely, and I spent 30 months as a developer on Appanzee, a Canadian software platform.

No Toronto office means no Toronto overhead in your quote. I also keep your hours: my working day starts at 1pm in Accra, which is your morning.

You can reach me all through your working day

The time I start work, in your local time, during winter
Your city I'm at my desk from
Halifax 9am
Toronto, Ottawa 8am
Winnipeg 7am
Calgary, Edmonton 6am
Vancouver 5am

These are winter times. Add an hour in summer. I stay available until your working day ends, and email and forms work any time.

Common questions

How much does a website cost with you?

From CA$3,500 for a business website of up to five pages. Bigger sites and extras like online booking cost more. You'll get a fixed written quote before any work starts, and the homepage preview is free either way.

What is the free homepage preview?

A working design of your new homepage, using your business name and real content from your current site. It costs you nothing. If you like it, we talk about the full site. If you don't, you owe me nothing.

How long does a small business website take?

Most take two to four weeks. The biggest factor is usually how quickly the text and photos are ready.

Will I be able to update the site myself?

Yes, if you want to. I can set up simple editing for the pages you change often and show you how it works. If you'd rather not touch it, I can make updates for you.

Can the site be in English and French?

Yes. The site can be fully bilingual, and you would supply the French text or a translator. If you do business in Quebec, read my Canadian website compliance checklist.

Will my website meet AODA accessibility rules?

I build to WCAG 2.0 Level AA, the standard Ontario uses, and test each page by keyboard and with automated tools. A formal audit is a separate job for a specialist. Read more about AODA website requirements.

Where are you based?

In Accra, Ghana. I work remotely, during Canadian business hours, and I don't have a Canadian office.
